Thomas Frank insisted he can "feel the trust from everyone", despite pressure growing on the Tottenham boss following their defeat by West Ham.
Spurs' winless start to 2026 continued as they were beaten 2-1 by their relegation-threatened opponents, after Callum Wilson's 93rd-minute winner at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham were beaten by a winning goal in the 90th minute or later for a second successive Premier League game, after also conceding late in their 3-2 loss to Bournemouth last time out.
Wilson's last-gasp strike cranked up the pressure on Frank, while boos echoed around the stadium when the final whistle blew.
Nevertheless, the Tottenham boss remained in an optimistic mood during his post-match press conference.
"It's emotional and extremely tough to assess," he said. "We played a very good second half. We were the closest to winning it, but we didn't have the cutting edge to score."
"I've probably had better times. I understand, I'm the man in charge. As long as they back the players to drive them forward, we will keep going forward.
"When we start winning again, it will change. If the players stopped working hard, then you can say okay, but the team are working very hard. We were close to something very good. We could've easily won this one 2-1.
"I can feel the trust from everyone. I see a team that is running in tough times. [It is] the perfect storm at the moment. A last-minute defeat and you get a sucker punch. It is unbelievably tough to take."
Tottenham have now won just one of their last seven Premier League games, and just two of their 11 on home soil this season.
Cristian Romero, whose header cancelled out Crysencio Summerville's deflected first-half strike, issued a rallying cry to his team-mates, but could not hide his frustration at Spurs' current situation.
"In this moment, we need to stay together, work hard, come back tomorrow to the training ground," he added.
"Thank you to the fans for always staying with us. Tomorrow, we will train in silence, work hard again. Midweek, we have another big match [against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League].
"At this moment, this is a disaster for us. We sometimes played good, sometimes bad. It's a difficult moment for us. We are not the best on the pitch."
Spurs have now lost 50 games in all competitions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with their first also coming against West Ham.
They have played 176 games at the ground, with their last 50 defeats at White Hart Lane coming over a 295-game spell between 2006 and 2017.

Please end this nightmare! He cant work out how to get these players scoring, when we were scoring for fun last season, with 12 injuries at one stage! We are only slightly better in defence, but 2 wins out of the last 12 EPL games is piss poor. Bye bye Thomas Frank!!!! Doesnt matter who we sign, Frank has proved he cannot improve players, he cannot put good players in positions to express themselves and cause problems for opponents. He is out of his depth, it cant be clearer
