Fred gives tutorial on how to pronounce his name… and it's not easy

Fred, sounds simple enough right.

Wrong. Trying to pronounce the Manchester United new boy's name is lot harder than you think.

But fear not, the Brazilian was on hand this week to give fans a lesson on how to say his full name properly.

Fred, is actually short for Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, which on the face of it does look a lot more challenging.

But United posted a video on Twitter of the midfielder giving a quick tutorial on how to correctly pronounce his full name to give fans a little help.

The United midfielder has also fired out a warning to his team-mates this week by claiming they must prove themselves as Premier League title contenders with victory against Tottenham.

The two sides clash at Old Trafford on Monday evening and Fred has issued a rallying cry suggesting that they cannot afford to slip even further behind at this early stage in the campaign following the defeat at Brighton.

'It's a very important game. This week we've been working, focusing on this game, we want to go out and get the win in front of our home fans,' he told Sky Sports.

'We know Tottenham are a great team, but we need to get the win if we are to aspire to win the league.

'Going into the next game, we want to be focused and we want to win, so we can stay in the race for the title.'
