Freixa: Ronaldo to Barcelona? If there's a time for such madness then it's now

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the least popular players ever for most Barcelona fans, yet Toni Freixa has opened the door to the unlikely possibility of the Catalan club signing the No.7.

Freixa, who was a director during Joan Laporta's previous presidency and who stood in the 2021 elections, believes that the current state of the club makes Ronaldo a possibility, however slight.

"If there's a time for such madness then it's now," he said when asked about this potential transfer during an appearance on Beteve's 'La Porteria'.

Freixa on Xavi's appointment

Freixa also discussed Barcelona's hiring of Xavi and the former midfielder's series of strict rules.

"He has come with this plan of fining players," Freixa said of Xavi.

"I think he is trying to convince them of his plan and of his way of playing. I think he wants them to enjoy their football."
