A new name has been added to the Tottenham Hotspur managerial sweepstakes on Sunday afternoon, amid mounting pressure on boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
United cruise
The subject of the bench on the Lilywhite half of north London has of course taken centre stage in the media over the last 24 hours.
This comes on the back of yet another damaging defeat in the Nuno era.
On the back of a 1-0 derby downing at the hands of West Ham United last weekend, Spurs, on Saturday, welcomed Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a Premier League clash.
When all was said and done in the English capital, though, the woes of the hosts only continued to deepen.
An abject, aimless display, during which Tottenham looked neither dangerous going forward or in any way solid at the back, eventually saw culminated in them being put to the sword by three goals to nil.
Conceicao eyed
In turn, on the back of the action coming to a close on Saturday, it has since come as little surprise to see the name of the aforementioned Nuno steal the headlines.
Calls mounted at both the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and across social media yesterday evening for the Portuguese to be moved on with immediate effect, just months after taking up the reins in the English capital.
And, if the latest media speculation is anything to go by, then those hopeful of such a decision ultimately being taken appear to have been handed a boost.
As per the reliable Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, Nuno ‘could be sacked’ imminently.
This comes with Daniel Levy understood to have been left ‘furious’ by the nature of Spurs’ defeat to Manchester United.
In the immediate aftermath of word surfacing of the mounting unrest in north London, the name of one tactician has been widely pushed as the most likely to take over from Nuno.
The man in question? Antonio Conte.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb have even gone as far as to suggest that an agreement between the two parties could ‘arrive in the next few hours’.
As outlined above, though, amid the widespread chatter surrounding Conte, a short time ago, another manager boasting considerable recognition across the continent has seen his name linked with the post, too.
In a fresh update on the situation courtesy of the Daily Mail, it is reported that the Spurs hierarchy are keeping a close eye on Porto manager Sergio Conceicao.
Conceicao, a fellow countryman of Nuno, is said to have ‘admirers’ in north London, albeit with it added that, as things stand, there is a lack of a ‘clear candidate’ to take up the reins.

Why don't that cow Levy do some homework before hiring Nuno? Go check with Wolves why wasn't Nuno's contract extended? Hired him because he was "free"? Levy will always be levy, stingy and cheapskate.

thanks for enlightening him. There's nothing wrong with the coach but the players and commitment. I look forward expectantly to the time when players' wages can be reduced owing to poor performance
