Chelsea news: The Blues face Borussia Dortmund in Chicago as the final stage of their pre-season tour of America with Mauricio Pochettino left with questions to answer
Chelsea's summer in America is coming to an end. It's been a good one so far even with plenty of unknowns still to unpack. In the coming weeks their young squad will be tested against a more experienced Liverpool juggernaut as well as the first taste of Premier League action for many of these players.
The baby-faced touring party of USA has performed admirably and much better on the field than Thomas Tuchel's aged veterans of 12 months ago. The true challenge will be how this fares come August 13 and the opening game of the competitive season.
It is a last chance to experiment and form meaningful bonds on the field with 10 days between this and coming face-to-face with Jurgen Klopp's side. For some it will be their only chance to feature.
"He's in Philadelphia, a little tightness in his hamstring but it's not a big thing," Pochettino explained ahead of the 2-0 win over Fulham.
"It's only Madueke that suffers. Maybe it is a thing that can be sorted in the next few days." The attacker has since posted on Instagram, writing: "You'll see me soon."
Having come back from the Under-21 European Championships not in peak fitness, Madueke missed the final having played a key role until that point, leaving him behind in his preparation for the new season.
One player that isn't expected to play is Trevoh Chalobah. He was forced off once more having also hit trouble against Wrexham in the first game of pre-season. The Cobham graduate has played his fair share of minutes this summer but is a potential candidate to leave the club after Axel Disasi completed his medical ahead of a move from Monaco to SW6.
"I hope it's not a big issue," Pochettino said on Sunday. "We need to assess now. It doesn't mean it is big. It was a precaution but we need to assess him the next few days. We don't believe it is big but hope also."
There could be a debut incoming, though. Lesley Ugochukwu was announced as a Chelsea player on Tuesday with Pochettino opening up on the deal. "I think today is going to be his first training session with us," he said.
"We need to assess him when he starts training with us today and then in London after the tour." Disasi has not yet been completed but could be in-line to feature against Liverpool.
Elsewhere it is a full fit squad for Pochettino in America, though a group of first team stars do remain at Cobham as they continue to recover from injury.

Given the uncertainty and possibilities of what Chelsea need for this season. I would like to give my view concerning transfer, loan, signed and possible First team Squad. Starting in goal, Kepa is unreliable and Slonina need more time to develop elsewhere given his low confidence and ability to work with his feet. Diogo Costa is the best option for us. He's excellent at stopping long and short range shot, and he plays the ball well at his feet including giving long range passes that may lead to a quick counter attack goal. he's good at saving penalties too. Diogo may seem expensive but if Chelsea wanna do everything in their power then he's the best option. Kepa may not attract immediate sale effect from clubs so he may stay this season as backup. Right and left footer CB paring are the best option for a defence. Levi and Bandeshelle at left and Thiago and Fofana at right, but since Fofana is injured he's already being replaced by Axel Desasi ( He's even better than Chalobah). Ian Maasten will have to go on loan since we'll be giving Cucurella his last test this season. James and Malo at right back. Humphreys should be loan out to Brighton as Levi replacement he will as well develop there too. For the Midfield we only need one or two addition which is Moises Caicedo and either Kudus, Cherki or Olise. We can keep the rest of the other midfielders after we loaned Ugochuku. For the attack; If we buy Vlahovic which is our best way of getting Lukaku out then Broja will face uncertainty, However he's still injured. Majority of the players except the striker will be charge with providing versatility. Starting with attacking midfielders to wingers. Angelo can stay, Morriera should be loan out, And all the other players who are not part of Poch plan should be sold. This is my Chelsea potential 26 man pick for the rest of the season Goalkeepers: Diogo Costa,Kepa Arrizabalaga ,Marcus Betillini Defenders: Thiago Silva, Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill, Reece James, Axel Desasi, Benoit Bandeshelle, Wesley Fofana, Lewis Hall Midfielders: Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, Andrey Santos, Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka, Moises Caicedo, Mohammed Kudus Forwards: Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku, Angelo Gabriel, Mykahlo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Dusan Vlahovic. Potential sale: Chalobah, Sarr, Hudson Odio, Ziyech, Lukaku Potential loan: Slonina, Humphreys, Morierra, Ian Maasten, L. Ugochuku Potential Signing: Moises Caicedo, Diogo Costa, Mohammed Kudus, Dusan Vlahovic Feel free to give your view and ask questions too🤝 KTBFFH💙💙💙
