Gala offers Leao €10M salary, Milan wants to keep Pulisic

According to the latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan's squad is set for a major overhaul, with Galatasaray interested in Leao.

Milan is reportedly undergoing significant changes, including at the player level, and the locker room will also be refreshed with new faces and new voices. Cardinale was impressed by the players' performance in Sunday night's match against Cagliari.

He praised the fighting spirit of Modric, Pulisic, S. Pavlovic, and Saelemaekers, but on the other hand, he believes many other players were too detached and indifferent, not ready to give their all for Milan, and many will leave.

Leao is crucial in this matter because no one else can change Milan's financial situation like him. He can bring in 40-50 million euros, which, while not as high as the 80-100 million euros expected a few summers ago, is still considerable.

The latest development is Galatasaray's interest in him. Both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have been active in the past week, secretly observing and studying each other: they are accustomed to having common goals.

Rumors are rife in Turkey about Fenerbahçe's desire to sign Leao, as they will elect a new president on the weekend of July 6-7. Galatasaray is currently in the lead and is prepared to offer an annual salary of 10 million euros after tax.

Leao's annual salary at Milan is 5.5 million euros plus bonuses. He cannot be indifferent to this offer. Will he accept the invitation from Turkey? The answer will come in the next few days, perhaps during the World Cup.

The other two biggest question marks hang over Modric and Rabiot, whose situations are different. Modric is happy at Milan, his daughter also plays for the club, and he has already felt the enthusiasm of Milan fans.

However, the loss to Cagliari shocked him, and now he is considering his future. His initial thought was to stay at Milan no matter what, but he still needs more time to think.

Rabiot's problem is closely related to Allegri. Rabiot joined Milan at Allegri's strong recommendation, and now that Allegri has left, his position has become precarious again.

At Juventus, when Allegri was transferred to a new club, Rabiot refused to renew his contract. Although he has not made such a demand at Milan, the new management must contact him to see if he is still as motivated as he was a year ago.

What about the other players? Many situations are unresolved... After all, what other options are there? The coach and sporting director will certainly influence many decisions. However, some boundaries can still be drawn.

Firstly, Cardinale's disappointment, as he believes there is a lack of leaders in the team. For example, Pulisic has significantly increased his chances of staying at Milan for another 12 months in the past 24 hours.

Both on and off the field, his performance in 2026 was clearly poor. He didn't score goals and didn't fit in with the team environment. If Milan's squad structure remains unchanged, Pulisic will likely ask the club to sell him.

However, Cardinale is determined to keep Pulisic and will do his best, and he will likely succeed. As for S. Pavlovic, it depends on offers from other teams. Milan would be happy to keep him, even if they know he would struggle more in a four-man defense.

However, the Serbian defender's excellent performance this season and the potentially lucrative offers he might receive are enough to allay doubts. One could even assume a 40 million euro offer from a Premier League team, in which case, refusing would require great courage.

In goal, Maignan has renewed his contract: he is associated with Allegri, but he is the captain, and he should seriously consider renewing before receiving other offers. In defense, Tomori's position is uncertain, while De Winter and Gabbia will remain with the team.

On the flanks, Estupiñán is worth watching; he was expected to be included in the World Cup squad. In midfield, Loftus-Cheek has not been in the team's plans for some time: will other teams make an offer for him?

Upfront, Füllkrug will not be bought out, and Jimenez would be better off accepting other options, as he previously rejected them and was wrong. He has not scored this season. As for Nkunku, it is too early to draw conclusions.

Milan fans do not like Nkunku; he performed poorly this season, missing an almost certain goal against Cagliari... but his fate is still hanging by a thread, like a balloon that could burst at any moment.
