Milan won the city derby 1-0 against Inter Milan on Sunday, with Christian Pulisic proving the matchwinner.
The Rossoneri now sit second on the Serie A table, two points behind AS Roma.
Ganz, who played for both Milan and Inter, said on RAI Radio this morning: "I think Milan can win the Scudetto. Right now, the only problem is the difficulty in matches against the so-called relegation-fighting teams; they've dropped a lot of points.
"They need to show something extra when they face the tougher teams. And not playing in the cup competitions could be a huge advantage."
Ganz also said: "Milan also played with two non-role forwards, Pulisic and (Rafael) Leao. Once upon a time, the forward only thought about scoring goals, now he has to chase down the opponent, steal the ball, and counter the opponent's first build-up.
"I think it's really a question of energy. Their roles have changed: they score less, they have many missions to develop during the match."
