Alejandro Garnacho revealed Unai Emery has given him the confidence to recover the form he showed during his early days at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old completed a loan move from Chelsea to Aston Villa on Thursday, and the move could become a £42.5m permanent transfer if certain clauses are met.
Garnacho joined the Blues just last summer from Manchester United for £40m, but struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
He directly contributed to 12 goals (four goals, eight assists) in 43 appearances in 2025-26, as Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League.
Garnacho scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists for United in 2024-25, while he also recorded 15 direct goal involvements (10 goals, five assists) in the previous season.
The winger is now hoping to regain that form at Villa and believes he is at the right club to do so.
"I think I was looking for a club that I could get confidence from and help me try to be the player that I was years ago from my first years at [Manchester] United," he told the club during his first interview.
"I spoke with the manager, and he's given me that confidence.
"I saw them in the Europa League last season and to be a part of the Champions League is important.
"And with Unai, I spoke with him before I came here and that's what's given me the confidence."
Villa face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12, while their Premier League campaign gets underway on August 23 against Brighton.
