Gary Neville has opened up on the moment 'all hell broke loose' when Ruud van Nistelrooy entered the Manchester United dressing room wearing a Manchester City shirt.
The two clubs, bitter historic rivals, had just faced off in the Manchester derby on November 2002, which saw City win 3-1 after a mistake from right-back Neville.
And the pundit revealed how legendary former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson erupted with fury at striker Van Nistelrooy.
The Dutch star had accepted a request to swap shirts with a victorious opponent and walked in clad in City's colours.
Neville, 48, speaking on The Overlap on Youtube, said Fergie went 'absolutely mad' and 'snapped' after the derby defeat.
He said: 'So at the end of that game, I think it came out after, Ruud van Nistelrooy swapped shirts.
'Somebody asked to swap shirts with Ruud. Do you remember it (Roy)? Who was it that asked to swap shirts with Ruud?
'And he swapped shirts and walked into the dressing room with a Manchester City shirt on his (chest). I mean, all hell broke loose. He snapped!
'And basically, "None of you ever, ever, swap one of my shirts ever again", pointing towards the City shirt. He went absolutely mad. Crazy. Something like that.'
Neville's error had led to Shaun Goater's crucial first-half goal, and he was hauled off after an hour to be replaced by John O'Shea.
His comments come as City and United prepare to face off again in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
The Red Devils have enjoyed a solid campaign in manager Erik ten Hag's first season at Old Trafford, finishing third and winning the League Cup.
They will be desperate to win the final and prevent City, who won the Premier League and will face Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10, winning a potential treble.

This is why I don't like Alex that arrogance inside by. He should be proud of 6-1 days, his best glory ever. Alex will always remain under Ancelotti's feet. Just because he's British media keep bragging. He reality is bribing
