Gavi joins pelé, eto'o as sixth U21 player to appear in two World cups

At 21:00 Beijing Time (CEST) on June 16, in the first round of Group H of the FIFA World Cup between Spain and Cape Verde, Gavi started for the Matadors.

According to Opta's statistics, 21-year-old Gavi has become the sixth player in FIFA World Cup history, after Pelé (Brazil), Norman Whiteside (Northern Ireland), Rigobert Song (Cameroon), Olembe (Cameroon), and Eto'o (Cameroon), to participate in two FIFA World Cups at the age of 21 and play in both.

In the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup, Gavi played 4 times for Spain, starting every match and scoring 1 goal.
