According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atlético Madrid and Paris FC have contacted Juventus regarding Jonathan David's transfer, but the Canadian forward will demand "departure compensation" if he is to leave permanently.
With five days left until the summer transfer window closes, Juventus is facing uncertainty over two departures: Cavali and David. The former was close to joining Bologna, but he strongly resisted, which briefly jeopardized Lukumi's deal. However, the club eventually completed that operation and is still seeking a solution for David. The latter has only now for the first time signaled his willingness to leave, but he insists that his next club must be of sufficient stature.
In short, the Canadian forward is only willing to transfer to a top club, but there has been no concrete progress on this front so far. The best prospect remains Atlético Madrid, which may consider him as a replacement for Álvarez, who could move to Barcelona.
Conditions
A series of complications has made it difficult for Juventus to find a solution at the Continassa training ground, as the player keeps adding new conditions to any potential transfer. If there is no formal pursuit from a heavyweight club, David prefers a loan move, and his representatives have also made any permanent sale more demanding, requiring substantial compensation as an incentive to facilitate his departure.
This demand stems from David joining as a free agent last summer, when various parties waived commissions to facilitate the signing. David was originally set to earn 6 million euros net annually over the next four years, and Juventus hopes to generate a positive capital gain from his sale. Therefore, if this agreement is terminated early, the club may need to pay a significant sum, although the player has no explicit contractual clause to enforce this claim.
From an operational standpoint, the simplest solution remains a loan. This explains why, compared to a few weeks ago, the player is now more open to offers. Paris FC, which had gone quiet previously, continues to monitor the situation, as do several English clubs, but they have only made preliminary contact with agents and have not yet directly approached Juventus. The Atlético Madrid route best aligns with David's expectations for his next destination, but more explicit guarantees are needed, and time is running out for the various options to materialize. The risk is that everything may be forced into a last-minute rush.
