As the pressure continues to ramp up on Arne Slot, Steven Gerrard has spoken about the Liverpool boss.
Steven Gerrard has made it clear Arne Slot deserves time to sort out Liverpool's problems - but cautioned the Dutchman the club's fans will grow more impatient if his side keep playing in the "two-faced" manner that they have.
Slot and his squad are facing enormous pressure in the battle for Champions League qualification. Liverpool currently sit fifth, a point clear of sixth-placed Chelsea and three ahead of Brentford in seventh.
But the Dutchman, less than 12 months after securing the Premier League title, finds himself under intense scrutiny due to the team's patchy form in the league. A significant portion of the club's supporters are also beginning to question the former Feyenoord boss.
That said, Gerrard believes Slot should be given the chance to reverse the situation, though he stressed the Liverpool faithful will expect swift improvements. Speaking on the Overlap, when asked if Slot still has credit in the bank, Gerrard replied: "He has with me because I know more than anyone on the planet how difficult it is to win a league, and for him to come in and win a league, in his first season, he's got a lot more credit with me.
"Jamie will tell you, Liverpool will demand, they expect to win it every year. I think he needs the opportunity to play his way out of trouble and fix the issues and try and get himself back in a good place.
"I think he did during that period a few months ago where they'd lost nine out of 12 and then they went on a run where he took them from 12th to fourth in the league. I think someone who has won a league deserves at least a full season to try and get out of the problems and issues that they've got, I'm certainly one of them.
"But, I have to understand what the fans are saying as well, because it has been dire on certain games and performances."
Having thrown his support behind Slot to turn things around, Gerrard went on to slam how different Liverpool are in the Champions League, compared to how they play in the Premier League.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed watching them in the Champions League, because I think they look like a completely different team. I think they’re in a different place there, but it’s a really tough ask for them going into the next one against PSG.
"In the league, they’ve looked very different. I haven’t really enjoyed watching them. It looks as if they’ve got a lot of issues to fix. It’s been difficult to put your finger on one issue, because they’ve got quite a few and it’s all over the pitch. So they’ve been very mixed and very two-faced, I would say.”
Slot's first fixture following the international break will be an FA Cup quarter-final showdown against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, before attention turns to the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

At this point,I agree with Steven. Let's give that nigga-Slot,more time. Only next season to fix our team right if he can't by next season then he should be sacked. Another danger here us that quality players may not come to Liverpool because of incompetent Slot.

In the league they have the same mentality as last 30 years, they expect teams to roll over for them, they Liverpool already think its a win, even at home, seams like they come out in slippers to play football. to many players play for themselves not like olden days, play as a team, in the older days when they won everything they had a couple of superstars and very good players, now days everyone thinks they are superstars,

I think true Liverpool fans know that firing Slot will lead to a disaster. The next coach will be rebuilding next season, andbif he fails to qualify for Champions league the same fans who are saying fire Slot, will be saying fire Alonso. Just look at Spurs.
