According to data account MisterChiping, Ghana's starting goalkeeper Zigi was substituted at halftime in the match against Panama, making him the third goalkeeper in history to be replaced at halftime.

In the history of the FIFA World Cup, there have been only two previous instances of a starting goalkeeper being substituted at halftime: Bulgaria's goalkeeper Borislav Mihaylov was replaced against Sweden in the 1994 third-place play-off, and South Korea's goalkeeper Choi In-young was replaced against Germany in the 1994 group stage.
