On the evening of November 5, Ronaldo announced his retirement from the Portugal national team. FIFA President Gianni Infantino paid tribute to him.
Gianni Infantino wrote
Few players have touched the hearts of football fans around the world as deeply as Cristiano Ronaldo.
His career has been marked by extraordinary talent, unwavering determination and a relentless desire to push boundaries.
As the first player in history to score in six World Cups and the all-time leading scorer in men's international football, Cristiano has achieved feats that are arguably unmatched, but his greatest legacy extends far beyond records, titles and goals.
He has inspired generations, united millions of fans, and carried the hopes and glory of Portugal onto the world's biggest stage.
Cristiano, thank you for your passion, for the unforgettable moments you have given us, and for your immense contribution to our beautiful sport in the Portugal national team jersey.
Your international career will forever be etched in football history. 🏆⚽️❤️

What cr7 feared most has finally happened to him, cr7 feared retirement more than death,he wished he would never face retirement but nothing last forever, even when he refused to retire Portugal kept him on the bench even in 2022 world cup, it's better to retire than sitting on the bench because it means you don't have business at the team anymore. Cr7 made the right decision when it was too late,he has stained and dented and rubbished himself and his legacy and he is going to regret it when he finally retired from football when everything becomes clearer to him that the team is bigger than any individual. Cr7 should go and learn sense from Messi, Messi is above cr7 in everything both on and off the pitch.
