The 17 year-old Lennart Karl scores again after winning the Player of the Match in the Champions League match against Brugge.
Match Report
Joshua Kimmich opened the floodgates in the 64th minute after the hosts defended stubbornly following Jens Castro's first-half red card, before Raphael Guerreiro and Lennart Karl completed the scoring to seal a 13th consecutive win to start the 2025-26 season.
Bayern could have been in front after just 56 seconds when Nicolas Jackson played Luis Diaz through on goal, but the Colombian forward missed the target from just 10 yards out.
Monchengladbach's hopes of pulling off a shock result were reduced after Castro was shown a red card for a high challenge on Diaz, following a pitchside VAR review from referee Sascha Stegemann.
Moritz Nicolas did well to keep out efforts from Harry Kane and Tom Bischof shortly before the break, while Kevin Dijks blocked a shot from Michael Olise on the line, but the reigning champions eventually found their breakthrough shortly after the hour mark.
Kimmich, whose initial effort was blocked by Yannik Engelhardt, found the top-right corner with a left-footed strike, before Guerreiro doubled Bayern's advantage five minutes later with a simple finish from Olise's set-up.
The hosts did have an opportunity to get back into the game when Bischof was penalised for a foul in the box on Dijks, but Kevin Stoger's effort from 12 yards out struck the left post.
And second-half substitute Karl put any doubts to bed with a curling finish into the top-left corner, reminiscent of Arjen Robben's trademark finishes for the Bavarian giants.
Data Debrief: Kompany's relentless road warriors
Monchengladbach's early sending off allowed Bayern to put constant pressure on their counterparts. Vincent Kompany's side produced 3.2 expected goals (xG) from 25 shots while the hosts' 0.79 xG all came from the penalty, which was their only attempt.
This is the third time Bayern have started a Bundesliga campaign with eight straight wins, also doing so in 2012-13 under Jupp Heynckes and in 2015-16 under Pep Guardiola, while they are also the first team in German top-flight history to score at least three goals in eight consecutive away matches.
And with this being their 13th win in a row in all competitions to start the season, they have equalled AC Milan's record from the 1992-93 season as the only other team from Europe's top five leagues to record as many victories to begin a campaign.
