Joel and Avram Glazer look increasingly likely to remain as Manchester United's owners beyond the sale process, according to new reports. The American brothers are said to be confident of securing enough outside investment that could see them at the Old Trafford helm beyond the next decade.

The Raine Group, the New York bank overseeing the process, has set an April 28 deadline for third and final bids to complete a full-scale takeover of United or buy a minority stake in the club.
Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani and Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of petrochemical giant INEOS, are the two leading candidates but have seen two offers rejected.
And they face competition from a group of United States-based investment funds that are ready to acquire a minority stake if the Glazers' reported £6billion valuation isn't met.
According to ESPN, Joel and Avram believe there is potential for organic growth that would make United worth north of £10bn in years to come.
Broadcast revenue and streaming opportunities are among the avenues that could make the Red Devils a considerably more valuable asset. That would, of course, require investment on and off the pitch - an aspect of ownership that the Glazers have faced criticism for over their 18-year tenure.
But funding from a wealthy investor would allow them to redevelop Old Trafford and the club's Carrington training ground while retaining control.
The report adds that such investment would allow Joel and Avram to continue as United's co-chairmen, while members of the family who have rallied for a sale can offload their stakes.
Kevin, Bryan, Edward Glazer and Darcie Glazer Kassewitz could all walk away, leaving Joel and Avram with even more power.

Last week, the Carlyle Group joined Elliot Investment Management, Ares Management Corporation and Sixth Street Partners as public suitors for a minority stake.
If Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe's third bids don't meet the lofty valuation, the Glazers will likely press forward with a potential new partner.
The process started last November when they announced they were considering 'all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions'.
But parties within the sale have always held reservations over whether the Glazers actually intend to sell.

I’m not surprised to see this kind of news,it’s just a way in which Americans and Britain’s operate they won’t leave a certain place until they drain it and if at all they finally agreed to leave part of them would still remain which means they would prefer a deal that would allow them to remain at the club while the other group controls the half part asset of Manchester United

What if they decide to stay and back Erik like the last summer window. Those were totally Erik signings. No interference. But maybe the budget should have been started earlier and act quicker. What if they change all that n maintain the stadium and training facilities to A class. And Man Utd come back again to glory again. I wouldn’t mind. Erik is giving everyone a clear vision now. Everyone sees what he is doing. What he likes and what he don’t. If they can support him with money n allow him his choice of players, then I don’t mind. After all, it theirs and you can’t force them to sell. I believe Erik as a manager. That’s what has been lacking onthe pitch.

It’s ok saying the club could be worth 10bn in 10 years time. But right now the club has nearly 1bn of debt that is always going up. What will this figure be in 10 years ? They’ve never once done anything about the debt they landed onto the club the day they bought it.
