“What Real Madrid wants is for their fans to believe that this league is bought”

Gonzalo Miró stated:

“In my opinion, based on what is already known from the Negreira Case, there are enough arguments to relegate FC Barcelona to the Primera RFEF… I’m not biased on this,” he explained to Juanma Castaño.

The Negreira Case involves Barcelona allegedly paying €1.4 million to Enríquez Negreira, a former vice president of Spain’s Technical Committee of Referees.

Gonzalo Miró highlights the reasons why Real Madrid “pressures” referees

Miró also focused on the pressure that Real Madrid, especially through its media outlet Real Madrid TV, allegedly puts on referees. This intensified following referee De Burgos Bengoetxea’s press conference before the Copa del Rey final.

“What Real Madrid is doing with the referees is outrageous, and I believe it serves several purposes: first, to pressure referees; second, to justify their defeats; and third, to damage the image of La Liga in order to push for the creation of the European Super League,” Miró said.

Regarding the goal of this alleged pressure, he added:

“It seems to me that what Real Madrid wants is for their fans to believe that this league is worthless, that it’s bought, that everything is prearranged, and that if it weren’t for the referees, they would have won many more titles.”
