Jack Grealish has been praised by fans after donating £10,000 to a fundraiser for an Everton supporter battling aggressive kidney cancer.
Everton fan and DJ Anton Powers shared a fundraiser set up by the family of 35-year-old Leon on Wednesday evening. Grealish quickly responded to the appeal and made a donation.
Powers wrote: "Grealish is an absolute gentleman. I posted about a heartbreaking situation for a die-hard Everton fan on my social media late last night."
"Jack then donated to his fundraising fund. He's such a good person."
Fans flooded the comments section of Powers' post, praising the former England international, with many also referencing his previous charitable acts.
One user commented: "I believe he's made many charitable donations like this. He's a gentleman of football. More players should learn from him."
Another fan wrote: "To be fair, Grealish has shown great character over the years—excellent."
A third fan wrote: "Jack is an absolutely lovely lad. You can tell he's well brought up and willing to help others when he can."
"He also never publicizes what he's done; it's always others who speak about how kind he is."
According to Leon's fundraising page, he is a father of three boys aged 2, 3, and 10, and is battling one of the most aggressive types of kidney cancer. Doctors estimate he has only one to three years to live.
The fundraiser was started by his partner, Krystle Duffy. In a statement on the page, she emphasized that the funds raised would help ensure Leon receives "the best possible treatment."
Grealish has a long history of supporting charitable causes. In 2021, he donated £5,000 to the family of a woman who died in a car accident, and in 2023, he donated £5,000 to help an Aston Villa supporter cover funeral costs.
That same year, the winger also donated £5,000 to a Birmingham City family to help their son Dylan Lamb travel to the United States for clinical trials to treat blood cancer.
In 2025, Grealish donated £1,000 toward funeral costs for another fundraiser and gave £1,400 to a man requiring specialized cancer treatment.
