MASON GREENWOOD scored his first goal for new club Marseille.
The controversial player completed a £26.7million move to France from Manchester United this summer.
And he got his first goal in Marseille colours in a pre-season friendly against French second-division side Pau FC.
After a scramble in the box, Greenwood capitalised and poked the ball over the opposition keeper.
Marseille reached an agreement with United to sign Greenwood after fending off competition from a number of European clubs led by Lazio.
The striker returned to United’s training ground in early July to hold talks with the club chiefs to help facilitate an exit from Old Trafford.
He attracted interest from a host of European clubs after a season-long loan spell with Getafe last term.
Greenwood scored ten goals in 36 appearances for the Spanish outfit and was awarded the club's Player of the Season.
The deal was completed despite protest from Marseille fans against the move.
A section of supporters launched a #GreenwoodNotWelcome campaign over allegations of attempted rape and assault against the 22-year-old.
Greenwood denied any wrongdoing and all charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service last year.
The player will now work under former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who joined the club in June.
Greenwood made his debut for the Red Devils in 2019 and scored 35 goals in 129 appearances.
