Real Madrid's victory over Manchester City was particularly sweet for the club's supporters as it was against a Pep Guardiola side.
After the match, many fans took to social media to remind Guardiola of the comments he made in 2019 about who he believed were the best clubs of the previous decade.
"What are the best teams in the last decade?" Guardiola said.
"There are three: Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
"These are the best three teams in the last decade in Europe.
"Why? Because every season they win the league, every season they win the cups, and every season they are there. Because they are the best."
Guardiola's words came back to haunt him on Wednesday night, in the latest chapter of the rivalry between himself and Real Madrid.
