Haaland's curse continues against Sunderland as he misses three clear-cut chances

In the fifth round of the Premier League, Manchester City hosted Sunderland, and Haaland missed an open goal opportunity in the final moments of the first half.

Out of 25 Premier League opponents, Sunderland is the only team Haaland has not scored against. Last season, Haaland took three shots with two on target across two matches against Sunderland, squandering two excellent chances.

In the first leg, Haaland's close-range tap-in in the six-yard box was cleared off the line by a Sunderland defender, denying him from a cross by a teammate.

In the second leg, Haaland's shot from close range was saved by the goalkeeper!

This season against Sunderland, after being set up by a teammate, Haaland once again squandered a golden opportunity.

For a player of Haaland's caliber, these were all clear-cut chances, yet he failed to convert them, and the curse against the Black Cats persists.
