Hajduk Split football chief Ivan Rakitic admits turning down Cristiano Ronaldo was the biggest regret of his career.
The former Barcelona and Sevilla midfielder hung up the boots this past summer and has since been appointed Hajduk Split's football director.
He recalled to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "In 2019, I got calls from Cristiano Ronaldo, who wanted me to Juventus.
"If I'm to be honest, then that's my biggest regret. I would have loved playing in Italy."
Along with playing over 300 games with Barca and Sevilla, the 37 year-old Rakitic was also capped by Croatia 106 times.

At that time juvewere lacking a midfielder of quality like Rakitic…juve were about to reach semifinals vs Ajax and ready to face Totenham in the semis…but unfortunately Ajax cane back…i still think juve had the every chance to be in the final in 2019 UCL…and seeing a juve vs Liverpool final would have been better than spurs
