Hannover 96 have confirmed that the second player, Jannes Horn, has tested positive for Coronavirus after team-mate Timo Hübers.

Jannes Horn, a second Hannover 96 player, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus following the infection of Timo Hübers, the club have confirmed.

The left-back reportedly had contact with his brother Florian who is a physiotherapist at 3. Liga side Eintracht Braunschweig.

Official announcement:

After it became clear on Wednesday that central defender Timo Hübers tested positive for the coronavirus, a precaution was taken for the entire 96 professional team as well as for the coaching team and staff. With Jannes Horn, another player has tested positive for the virus. All other test results were negative.

Hübers and Horn are most likely two separate, independent cases. So far, both players have had no symptoms. The Health Authority of the Hanover Region decided on Thursday afternoon for precautionary reasons to place the entire professional team from Hanover 96 and the physiotherapists under domestic quarantine for 14 days.

They are classified as so-called first-degree contacts, unlike the coaching team, the rest of the staff and the sports director Gerhard Zuber. The risk assessment depends on the type of contact and is therefore assessed individually by the health department.
