Here we take a look at the main tasks Tottenham's next head coach will have to sort out once he is confirmed as Antonio Conte's replacement

Tottenham fans will be hoping that the club's search to find Antonio Conte's replacement is put to bed sooner rather than later. Already on course to surpass the 72 days it took to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm two years ago, Daniel Levy needs to ensure that the right man is selected even if it takes a little bit longer.

It will be a summer of change at the club as a new managing director of football is also required. That means Tottenham have the opportunity to reset and go again as they look to get the team competing at the top of the Premier League and also for major silverware.

So what are the priorities for the new head coach once he is appointed at the helm? football.london takes a look below.

The incoming head coach will use pre-season to take a good look at the Tottenham squad at his disposal and make some big decisions ahead of the new season. Not only will he have to take a closer look at the players who finished the season at Spurs, he will also have the loan players, including Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gill, back at Hotspur Way with question marks hanging over their heads.

Some big calls need to be made over a number of players this summer as part of the much-needed squad rebuild. Players such as Hugo Lloris, Davinson Sanchez, Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic could quite easily move on, with a decision over Eric Dier required due to his contract status.

A must for the new head coach is to sit down with Harry Kane following his summer break and gather his thoughts given all the uncertainty surrounding his future at present. While it may appear the ideal time to part with the striker from a financial aspect when you look at his contract status, Tottenham and Levy quite simply cannot afford to sell him as it would prove incredibly costly given what he brings to the team.

It is going to be all change at Tottenham this summer as Levy needs to bring in a new head coach and managing director of football. Who he selects as replacements for Conte and Fabio Paratici will have a huge bearing on what happens with Spurs over the coming months and years.

Spurs need everyone at the club to align as the only way they will achieve success is if they have a vision and stick to it. It is imperative that the head coach and managing director of football are on the same page.

It is also a must that both discuss potential incomings and outgoings as the head coach needs the best players at his disposal to put Spurs on the path to silverware.

The new manager must also answer the formation question at Tottenham. Having opted for 3-4-3 under Conte before Ryan Mason switched it in the final few weeks, it remains to be seen how Tottenham will line up next season.
