I consider this a interruption, Modric only won this Ballon d'Or because of two reasons, 1. Because of his/team performances in the world cup. 2. FIFA now, which is new administrations under new president just wanted to make some new/changes. In Madrid, Marcelo, Bale, Romas and Ronaldo were better then Modric and contributed a lot for Real Madrid to win the champions league, Griezmann couldn't win the Ballon d'Or, because he won Europa.. No! only three people should we expect to be 3 contenders in 2019 Balloon d'Or, it will be the return/continuation of Messi or CR7 follow by Kylian Mbappe only if he contributes for PSG to win the champions leaque, as for Neymar he got lot to proved, likewise with the present of Mbappe in PSG, it's competitions for Neymar to overcome him and win Ballon d'or, So i would ssy Modric won, because of the world's cup, and it's going to take so many years to have another world's cup, Making the Balloon d'Or returning to Messi or CR7.

according to the stats, modric hasn't really done much to earn him the Ballon d'or, he's just been overrated but in the actual fact there he didn't perform to the Ballon d'or standard. I know I'm a Messi fan but at this point, even if CR7 had to take the award, it would make much more sense... Honestly if the Ballon d'or awards are going to be like this from now onwards, most soccer fans and professional player won't really be anticipated for the awards anymore... It's sad but true fact. dear Modric, I don't mean to hate but honestly with reference to your 2017/2018 season stats, you don't deserve it.. I rest my case.
