Hazard confirms he will stay at Chelsea but refuses to commit long-term future

Eden Hazard has confirmed he will stay at Chelsea this season but refused to commit to the club long-term.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge all summer and could have still joined a club in Europe until the end of August, despite the transfer window being closed in England.

However, he has moved to assure Chelsea that he will be here come September, admitting he won't leave 'this year'.

Hazard came off the bench in the 3-2 win against Arsenal and set up Marcos Alonso for the winner midway through the second-half.

Speaking after the victory, Hazard said: 'Everybody knows what I have said after the World Cup, but I'm happy here.

'I don't want to talk about it yet. A lot has been said, but at the moment I'm happy. I have two years left on my contract and we'll see what happens. Leaving this year? I won't go.'

The forward was linked with a move to Real Madrid at the start of the summer window following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

But Madrid have not made a significant effort to bring him to the Bernabeu, instead opting to prioritise the signing of his former Chelsea team-mate, Thibaut Courtois.

Hazard still has two years remaining on his contract but refused to say whether he would stay with the club beyond this season.
