Pep Guardiola is clearly still bristling after Manchester City threw away the chance to win the Premier League title by beating rivals United.
City were beaten 3-2 at home, having led 2-0 at half time, but should have had a second half penalty when Ashley Young caught Sergio Aguero with a sliding tackle.
Guardiola was asked whether striker Aguero, who made a 14 minute substitute appearance in the derby, was ready to start against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.
'He was diving,' was Guardiola's sarcastic response. Replays of the incident prove the Argentinian did anything but, despite referee Martin Atkinson waving play on.
Young completely wiped out the forward with 10 minutes to play, flying in with studs up on Aguero, who has only just returned from a knee injury.
The immediate reaction from pundits watching was that it was a penalty, with Sky's Gary Neville saying it should have also been a red card.
He said: 'It looked a penalty all day long, it was a reckless challenge by Young. He flew into the challenge.
'It's a bad challenge from Young. He follows through with his right leg into the shin of Aguero. It's not just a penalty, it is close to being a red card as well. United have got away with one there. Young is lucky. Guardiola has every right to be incensed.'
City have to recover immediately from this disappointment when they face Liverpool in the second leg of their quarter final.
Liverpool won 3-0 at Anfield last week, meaning Guardiola needs Aguero to be fit and on form to have a chance of progression.

i am disappointed with pep by saying that he deserved to be awarded a penalty and a red card but he has forgotten what his goalkeeper claudio bravo did to wayne Rooney at old Trafford because United also deserved a penalty and bravo to be sent off, let's not forget the past.

this the reason why pep always preach clinical cause if we were clinical not getting that penalty wouldn't mean a thing... cause we would have be leading 5_0 from half time. . still that's water under the bridge me took pride in knowing we started most of our subs against man u and still ran them to wreck. ...#CITY #ALWAYS

I don't understand why people want to win in a dirty way by over commenting on young and aguro's incident yet city was won in open play free and square and the ref never wanted to spoil the match as the challenge was not good enough to warrant penalty unless you hate united because they are the most successful team in the country and also they never talked when ref robbed united of clear penalty and a red card to goal keeper bravo, he later on confessed of his mistake but we kept quiet so swallow it...... what goes around comes around!!!!!
