Although he was disappointed that his Bayern Munich side were eliminated at the Champions League semi final stage, Jupp Heynckes congratulated Keylor Navas on his performance, which gave Real the platform to progress to the final in Kiev.
The Costa Rican stopped Bayern from scoring on eight separate occasions and was definitely man of the match.
"Real can thank Keylor Navas because he was spectacular and made some fantastic saves," Heynckes said in his post-match press conference.
"If you look at both matches I think we have been the better team, so it's a big disappointment not to reach the final."
He was also pleased with the desire shown by his team.
"My team had a great attitude and we got up again," Heynckes continued.
"It's been a world class match, but the injuries hurt us in the first leg and we are missing five players.
"I still had full confidence in all my players and I will not look for excuses, it doesn't seem right."
Heynckes did go on to confirm he would retire again from football at the end of the season.
"I will not go back to a bench and that's fine," he added.
"There are not many people who get into these adventures at 72.
"I don't have any emotion about it.
"I'm disappointed by the 2-2 though, as it's been like a defeat for us.
"I feel for the group, football has not given them the prize they deserved."

Coach, please don't use that word that Real Madrid should thanks Keylor Navas, Why should Real Madrid thanks him ? The reason why Real Madrid bought him is to makes the saves in goals like he did and he get his paid for every weekly . So no need to thanks him . Secondly no excuses because if you people was better team Bayern suppose to won the Match at your own home soil in the first leg Ok. thirdly experienced matters in everything's you do in life ,So Real Madrid experienced took them to other champions league final, Because all Bayern Munich players was only focus on Ronaldo CR7 not knowing that Karim Benzema would delivered, So this the experience behind the result also this is to show you that Zidane have more experienced in champions league than you Bayern Munich coach ok and forget about the age ,experience is experience full stop. please if you like my analysis I love to see your like, one love All hail Real Madrid.

Let me confess as a diehard Real Madrid fan that Bayern Munich were far better than Real Madrid in the 2 leg encounters of the semi finals. They terrorized Real Madrid defence at every opportunity except that their finishing was a bit poor and some costly mistakes were made. Real Madrid banking on experiences in UCL pounced on few chances and some of the mistaked and have booked their place in the final hoping to make history of 3 consecutive wins. I must also commend the Bayern coach for acknowledging the efforts of Kaylor Navas being instrumental to Real Madrid's success. At least, he never blamed their elimination on Referee this time. We all must realize that Referee and other match officials are humans and therefore prone to making mistakes at times. People keep blaming poor officiating as responsible for Real Madrid successes through round of 16, Quarter finals and semi finals and here they're in finals. The truth remains that some are are just haters! Whatever you do, they must look for something or someone to blame. It's a normal thing.
