Hoeneß: Bayern Munich is more united than ever, Kompany makes everyone better

After Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title in advance,Hoeneß gave an interview to Bild, talking about his views on Kompany.

What impressed you the most about this championship?

Hoeneß said: "In the history of Bayern Munich, the team has never been as united as it is now. There are absolutely no 'cliques' in this team, which includes not only the players, but also the entire coaching staff, physical therapists, as well as Eberl and Freund."

"When we signed Kompany, everyone thought: How can a guy from a Premier League relegated team lead Bayern Munich? Many people thought he couldn't do it. We had lunch with Kompany, his father, Hainer, Eberl, and Freund at the Käfer restaurant."

"Half an hour later, I patted Eberl's knee under the table and gave him a thumbs up. At that moment, I knew and felt that this would be good, Kompany is the right person for us."

"Kompany puts the word 'work' at the core of his analysis, and I like that very much. This can be a good example and model for our country. Some people think that everything can be accomplished by working less - but that is completely wrong."

"Kompany arrives here at 7:30 every morning and is one of the last to leave at night. You can see that he simply enjoys it. When players are injured, he never complains. He makes every player here better - even Kane. That is true art."
