FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has added another individual accolade to his illustrious career, being named ‘Athlete of the Century’ by the Polish Football Federation.
Unable to attend the ceremony in person due to Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup final in Jeddah, Lewandowski was represented by his wife, Anna Lewandowska, who collected the award on his behalf.
Speaking via videoconference, Lewandowski has expressed his gratitude: “Receiving the title of Athlete of the Century is a huge honour and a sign that the path I’ve followed makes sense. This journey has never been walked alone. The recognition is the result of the work of many people: coaches, staff, teammates, fans, and my family.”
The striker concluded with a statement of intent: “I promise that, as long as I run more than most of you here, I will not retire,” signalling his determination to continue performing at the highest level.

Lewandoski is still way far ahead of useless Farran Tores and many European top strikers

If we cannot get Haaland, Alvarez or Kane; Lewandowski should be renewed. We cannot just rely of Ferran or get average striker like Vlahovic to replace him.
