How 13 Man Utd players are faring on loan - including Pellistri and Dalot

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have some of the best players on their books.

Unfortunately, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can only pick 11 - leaving some top stars out - while club scouts have discovered some high-potential aces for the first-team of tomorrow.

To help aid their development, a number of them have been allowed to leave on loan to garner more experience.

They include Diogo Dalot, Facundo Pellestri, Ethan Laird, Teden Mengi and others.

However, there are some that might be looking to put themselves in the shop window over a permanent transfer away from Old Trafford with their chances of breaking into the United starting line-up unlikely.

So how are the 13 players out on loan doing?

Tahith Chong

After having his loan spell at Werder Bremen cut short, Chong's future was up in the air.

However, a move to Club Brugge has seen the Dutchman find his feet after four assists in five Jupiler League appearances.

Jacob Carney

The 19-year-old goalkeeper was loaned out to Portadown in January after spending the first-half of the season with Brighouse Town.

With his contract expiring at the end of the campaign, it remains to be seen where Carney will be next year.

Andreas Pereira

Very much a forgotten man at United after the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, Pereira was loaned out to Lazio last summer.

The Brazilian has started just two Serie A matches this season, largely adopting a bench role under Simone Inzaghi.

Aliou Traore

Another player whose contract expires at the end of the season, the 20-year-old has been out at Ligue 2 side Caen.

This year Traore has played 18 times out in France.

Di'Shon Bernard

A connection is blossoming between United and Salford City due to the Class of '92, and Bernard has been a benefactor of that after enjoying a fine campaign on loan there.

The defender has impressed at the Peninsula Stadium and saw his time there extended until the end of the season.

Max Taylor

After joining Kidderminster Harriers in late October, Taylor has now not played any football in three weeks.

It comes after the National North division was halted due to Covid.

Diogo Dalot

After the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Dalot became surplus to requirements and was sent to AC Milan.

The Portuguese defender had a slow start to his career at the San Siro but recently appeared against his parent club in the Europa League, where he impressed.

James Garner

There are high hopes for Garner but his loan at Watford was cut short this year after a change in management.

He is now with Nottingham Forest where he scored the first senior goal of his career against their rivals Derby.

Joel Pereira

Pereira is currently Huddersfield's back-up goalkeeper making just one appearance for the Terriers.

Unfortunately, he conceded four times during that match and has not played since while his contract at United is up in the summer.

Jesse Lingard

After falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford, Lingard has a new lease on life at West Ham under David Moyes.

In seven Premier League appearances, he has scored five and assisted two, earning a call-up to the England squad.

Teden Mengi

With Wayne Rooney in charge, Derby County can expect a number of young United stars to join in the future with Mengi the first.

The 18-year-old has been tipped for a big future and has made a steady start to life at Pride Park.

Ethan Laird

Another prospect for the future, Laird has had a good campaign with MK Dons this year.

Operating as a right wing-back suits his attacking nature, though he can also play any position down the flank as well as at centre-back.

Facundo Pellestri

After joining last year on deadline day, the 19-year-old has been tipped for stardom but moved to Alaves in January.

With his new side battling relegation in La Liga, it has been a tough start to life for the Uruguayan - though he is getting good minutes under his belt.
