Three games, three losses. Real Madrid's season was ended in a week.
As if a pair of Clasico defeats to Barcelona were not enough, the LaLiga giants crashed out of the Champions League to Ajax on Tuesday.
After a win over Levante on February 24, Madrid could not have imagined a week as bad as this.
The Santiago Bernabeu has seen four consecutive Madrid losses for just the third time ever and first since May 2004, and Santiago Solari's position as head coach is surely hanging by a thread.
It was a week that could not have gone any worse.
Wednesday, February 27 – Copa hopes dashed
Madrid 0-3 Barca (1-4 agg): Suarez brace punish wasteful hosts & book final spot
After a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final, Madrid had hope heading back home.
They looked on track after a goalless first half, during which Vinicius Junior's missed chances would come back to hurt them.
Led by Luis Suarez, Barca punished Madrid after the break, the Uruguayan scoring either side of Raphael Varane's own goal to send Barca into a record sixth straight final courtesy of a 3-0 second-leg win.
Saturday, March 2 – Another Clasico defeat
Real Madrid 0-1 Barca: Rakitic seals a 3rd Bernabeu win for Clasico kings
A chance for some revenge, and an opportunity to get back into the LaLiga title race.
Instead, Madrid fell to a first-half Ivan Rakitic goal, suffering a 1-0 loss.
Rubbing salt into their wounds, Barca went ahead in Clasico victories for the first time since April 1931.
Madrid were left 12 points behind their league-leading rivals with 12 games to go, their chances of LaLiga success all-but over.
Tuesday, March 5 – Champions League defence over
Madrid 1-4 Ajax (3-5 agg): Reigning champions shockingly kicked out of UCL
Hakim Ziyech, David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone scored for Ajax, while Marco Asensio's goal gave Madrid brief hope before the three-time defending champions were eliminated at the earliest stage since 2009-10, Nacho Fernandez's late red card adding to their misery.
It ended a week best quickly forgotten for Madrid.

I have been posting this everywhere but this needs to be said, especially with so many calling for a head, and branding this as a disaster season for Madrid and calling Ronaldo's absence the factor. While it has been one of the many, but let's face it, Madrid has been performing shit in league and copa for some time (apart from one season in between). Their only saving grace was the UCL. And if you go back and check, all their last 4 UCLs in the last 3 years, they have had some moments of brilliance to take them through (Ramos's header in 2014 final, Ronaldo's breathtaking hattrick against Wolfsburg to overturn a first leg deficit etc.) and then they had the rub of the green going their way (the penalty shootout in 2014 and 2016, the last minute penalty against Juve and Karius' screw up in 2018 etc.). Let's face it, Madrid has been extremely lucky to have won anything in the last many years. But luck favors the brave...and Madrid had been the most passionate club when it came to UCL, and no one can take anything away from them. Just like no one can take anything away from Barca's 6-1 turnaround...luck favored, ref favored, but you still wouldn't win, if you did not really work for it. Having said that, the UCL wins were covering up what was becoming quite a shit team for years...Madrid's future is still bright and they needed a season like this in a way. Viniscius has been a great find, Reguilon looks promising... All they need is a finisher, and they will be good to go!

Hey Afers, Please leave Real Madrid alone for some time.....just posting all shits like Puyol trolled, Ajax thrashed......C'mon this is football and everyone enjoys it but don't make it a mockery, I know that if we i.e. Barca loses in the match against Lyon, you all be posting in the same way and I really don't care about this......every team has its bad phase, so, let it be but these big teams actually know to rise up when they fall......and I hope that Barca wins against Lyon.....and stop trolling Real Madrid for their poor week, let it be a barca fan or a fan of any other team, coz they will come back strong

What happened to Champions? Really I am very sad about this performance. I think madrid had understood the real value of Ronaldo. I am crying the whole yesterday about this performance. The crying become more louder when I saw the face of Marcelo. What can we do? but I still love Madrid. I am keeping away my sadness by seeing the classic matches of Real Madrid. We want a better winger to replace Ronaldo but it was very hard to find a winger for Real Madrid like Ronaldo.
