Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim insists "I don't care" about any criticism that comes his way, following their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
The Red Devils suffered their 14th loss in the Premier League this season - their joint-most in a single campaign in the division - after going down at St. James' Park.
Although Alejandro Garnacho cancelled out Sandro Tonali's earlier volley, Newcastle ran away with the contest after the break, with Harvey Barnes scoring twice and Bruno Guimaraes also on target.
United dropped to 14th place, seven points adrift of the top half, with Amorim and his players likely to come under even further scrutiny.
However, the Portuguese maintains he is not affected by any negativity surrounding him.
"I understand [the criticism], but I don't care," he told Sky Sports. "Nothing is worse than losing games.
"People can say whatever they want to say. I don't want to defend myself or anything like that. If you look at our position in the table, it says it all. Losing games is the hardest part of this job, by far.
"We made a lot of mistakes that made it harder to win a game [on Sunday]. It's a little bit of everything. It's hard to point to one thing.
"It's really hard to win against these top teams like Newcastle. When we make mistakes to help the opponent, it's even harder. I think you can see that we can do so much better."
Nevertheless, Amorim was keen to look forward and switch his focus to Thursday's crucial Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon.
The tie is finely poised at 2-2 ahead of the showdown at Old Trafford, where United will aim to keep their final silverware quest of the season on track.
The Red Devils would secure Champions League football next term by going all the way in the competition, which would provide a welcome salvation to an otherwise difficult campaign.
"All the mistakes we made today, we cannot make on Thursday," Amorim continued. "Of course, it's really important. We have a chance to get [in the] Champions League.
"It will be really hard. We have to focus on that and get to the next stage. It's a different game. We need to give something to our fans and to go to the next stage."

That’s because you didn’t see the work his done See … in picking a coach MSN united decision makers look at result instead of looking at the underlying work the manager had done !!! Amorim has refused to change 3:4:3 Even when it’s clear 4:3:3 or 4:2:3:1 or 4:5:1 will be bring s better chance of winning It’s either he’s not really good tactically or he’s not flexible to adapting Both are signs of a terrible coach
Amorim won't change his philosophy because if he does, the same media will call for his head, Eric Ten Hag came in with his own philosophy but changed after his first two matches, cause he understands that what England media wants is winning and not the way you want play, at the end he still got sacked

Amorim vs xavi
No serious football fan on earth that is alive will compare s dullard like amorim to a brilliant like Xavi …. Xavi is 100100 …..Amorim is 05/100 Xavi will finish in top 8 with the same team that Amorim is struggling with. Let’s be honest any serious managers in the world will finish top 8 with this crop of UNITED PLAYERS.

He reminds me of ADRE VILLAS BOAS at Chelsea….these type of newly hatched young managers are just not the right type to manage an institutions like BIGGEST CLUBS in the world You’ll never see Barca Real Madrid or Liverpool make such decisions

Newcastle United 's manager was not on the pitch but they still outplayed Man United strategically in the second half. while Amorim keeps sticking on his rigid system that he doesn't want to make flexible. That being clueless

the previous coach is always better than the current one..Ole is better than tenhang, tenhang is better than this baby coach.. united can't win league even after 10season with this baby coach ...no significant improvement since tenhang left ..united was in 13th position when tenhang departed now we're languishing in 14th position..this idiot coach should be sack before he do more damage...that stupid formation of his can't work in premier league..
mate just fucking stop watching football. it's not for the low IQ period.

You should care. A coach should learn to know his players and use his own intelligence to select his squad, not to follow the instructions of the fans or some guys in studio. Why drop Onana?
