Ibrahimović believes Rudi Garcia is fully responsible for Belgium's elimination, arguing he should not have brought Laments on to the pitch.
Courtois felt discomfort in his quadriceps during the match but said after the final whistle he could have finished the game.
"I felt decent throughout the match, especially in the second half," the Belgian goalkeeper shared in the mixed zone. "But I took two goal kicks from more than six metres out, and the pain in my quadriceps spiked sharply on the second one. I signalled I couldn't kick the ball far, yet I was still capable of staying in goal. However, the coach told me: 'If you are not at 100 per cent fitness, I will substitute you off.' I tried to push through a little longer, but he had already made up his mind to make the change. There are no hard feelings, as the team always comes first, without a doubt."
In the FOX Sports studio, Zlatan Ibrahimović held a vastly different opinion. The Swedish legend singled out Rudi Garcia as the main culprit behind the Red Devils' early exit.
"It is all Garcia's fault. Why bring Laments on? Penders was right there on the bench. Is it just because one plays for Manchester United and the other for Strasbourg? National team goalkeepers cannot be picked like this."
"Penders is far more capable. Laments is overrated at this level of competition, everyone can see it. It’s a disgrace. Both the head coach and goalkeeping coach ought to be ashamed of themselves."

where were the defenders to clear the ball after the goalkeeper did his part ? it's a team work . Belgium defenders allowed Spain towards to go past them in the process. Give him a break. other players fail to score decisive penalties or goals. no one is 100% perfect

I would like to think that the first goal also came from a rebound. Why blame the second rebound and forget the first rebound? It was just destined that Spain must proceed to the semi finals. What were the defenders also doing that the goalkeeper must be the only person to shower the blame?

Whether it was goal keeper's fault or not, it was clear Belgium was going out with the way they were playing
