Paul Pogba's injury hell seemingly has no end in sight with the midfielder limping off just a few minutes into his first competitive start in over a year.

The Frenchman has endured a nightmare return to Juventus, having re-joined the club on a free transfer from Manchester United last summer, missing the majority of the campaign thanks to a series of injury problems.

He made his first start of the season against Cremonese on Sunday, but lasted less than half hour before going off injured, with the 30-year-old sinking the floor, dejected, after pulling up following a long-range effort at goal.

As he received treatment, Pogba was seen with his head in his hands and looked to break down in tears as the reality of the situation dawned on him.

He's made just nine competitive appearances for Juventus, racking up a mere 137 minutes this season, and it's likely this latest setback will keep him out for the remainder of the campaign.

A meniscal injury picked up over the summer meant he arrived at Juventus crocked, much to the frustration of fans who were desperate to catch him action following six years away, but it was the knee injury he sustained in September that truly decimated his season and began to hamper his relationship with the Old Lady.

Pogba put off getting surgery in a bid to be fit for the 2022 World Cup, but he failed to recover in time and missed the tournament anyway. Delayed treatment meant his Juventus return was pushed back, which irked the club, and he was later lambasted by supporters after jetting off on a skiing holiday - risking further injury - while still sidelined.

His latest injury comes as a blow for Max Allegri's side, who are looking to seal a top four finish in the coming days. They're currently second in Serie A, three points ahead of third-place Inter Milan and four points ahead of Lazio in fourth, but with a crunch tie against fifth-place AC Milan to come later this month, the job is far from finished.
