While tickets still remain for the game that is said to be when Messi will make his first appearance for his new side, the prices are high - and climbing.
While one number is counting down, the other is rising. With just days to go until Inter Miami present their multiple Ballon d’Or winner to their adoring and emotional fans, the price of seeing Leo Messi in the flesh has reached new heights.
Tickets for the debut game of the Argentine have reached up to $10,000 on the official website for the sale of the event: Ticketmaster. The company, although still showing that there are plenty of seats left, have the top price of a seat next to the pitch at the eye-watering fee of a small car.
How much are Inter Miami tickets vs Cruz Azul?
Only one stand in the entire stadium, the DRV PNK Stadium which holds just 18,000 spectators, is sold out. As for the other three sides, tickets are available in almost every section, with many seats able to bought in the same row, showing that they are not just the ‘leftover’ tickets but actually something more notable.
AS USA did the rough maths and worked out that around 1,000 tickets may yet not be sold; not a huge number to go and one that can be wiped out in an afternoon, but it’s most definitely not sold out. As for the mega-expensive $10,000 seats, we counted four remaining at the time of writing and over 10 that were above $5,000. The most common ticket still on sale was in fact the cheapest option: the corner sections of the stadium each had over 100 tickets remaining and were being sold for $200 base price, totalling up to around $250 after what Ticketmaster call “fees”.
Are all Inter Miami MLS games sold out?
For Inter Miami’s next game, against Atlanta United on July 25, the tickets are slightly cheaper, coming in at $145 and rising to just over $2,000. They are also a lot less popular, with the number of unsold tickets well past 2,000 according to AS USA maths.
The reports have come in that every single Inter Miami game, home and away, is sold out thanks to the arrival of Messi. However, it seems that the sky-high prices are sadly keeping people away from the stadiums of the people’s game. Never mind, you’ll be able to follow Leo Messi in an Inter Miami shirt for the first time right here on AS USA. Without the maths.
