Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu says it's time to lay off Alessandro Bastoni.
Ahead of their clash with Cagliari, Chivu was asked about the defender, who is being linked with Barcelona this week.
He said: "I'd be done with it, Ale has been talked about for a month now and never to praise him. Yet there would be to say about the man, the footballer, how much he put on the pitch and the availability he gave to the national team despite many days spent on crutches. He put his face on it, let's give him credit.
"You have to be proud of what he did. And he has a physical problem, his ankle is still not at 100%: he has trained little in a month, you have to accept that physically he is not at his best. It's the end of April, a physical refurbishment is of little use, you have to trust him and make him feel important, knowing that it is not 100% for a professional.
"But he still offered to be there, even though he's not well. He will not be called up tomorrow,will remain out to recover from both the ankle problem and to improve his athletic condition."
