On October 17th, Inter came from behind to beat Bologna 3-1 away in a Serie A Matchday 7 fixture, with goals from Marcus Thuram, Carlos Augusto, and Lautaro Martínez. They currently top the table with 19 points from 6 wins and 1 draw.

According to Opta’s post-match statistics, this is the fourth time Inter has collected 19 points from the first 7 Serie A rounds since the three-points-for-a-win rule was introduced in the 1994-95 season. The previous instances came in the 1997-98, 2002-03, and 2017-18 seasons (all with 19 points), but Inter failed to win the Serie A champion in any of those three campaigns.
