Multiple reports claim Inter are looking to pull off an audacious move for Real Madrid star Luka Modric.
The midfielder was awarded the Golden Ball at the 2018 World Cup for his performances for Croatia, and is considered one of the best players in the world in his role.
According to Sky Italia, Gazzetta dello Sport and FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri have contacted the agents of the former Tottenham Hotspur man, and they haven’t closed the door on a move.
Any deal would prove very difficult, not least because of Modric’s salary, but the Beneamata are keen to try and make the deal happen.
The transfer would serve as a response of sorts to Juventus’ capture of Cristiano Ronaldo, and with the arrival of Sime Vrsaljko, Modric would form a Croatian diaspora with Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic.
Sky reports that this is why a deal for Arturo Vidal hasn’t yet been officially confirmed, as Inter want to find out if it’s possible to move on to concrete negotiations.
It’s still more likely than not that Modric will sign a new contract with Real Madrid, but it appears there is genuine interest from the Nerazzurri.

is this the same Inter Milan who said they couldnt buy Rafinha's "obligation to buy if they secured UCL football" due to "FFP" making moves for Nainggolan, Martinez, salcedo, asamoah, gagliardini, De vrij, dimarco, and Vrsaljko while also being linked to Modric and Vidal?

modric is player that no one can question his level or his quality, so if Real Madrid let him leave the club then they are stupid because his leaving will harm the club more than when Ronaldo left. i hope that they'll do everything to keep him
