Trent Alexander-Arnold insisted he had not worked on the corner that sent Liverpool into the Champions League final.

The Reds mounted another incredible European comeback as they fought back from 3-0 down against Barcelona.

Divock Origi scored the tie-winning goal following Alexander-Arnold's quick corner.

Asked about the set-piece at full-time, the Liverpool defender told BT Sport: "It was just instinctive.

"It was just one of those moments where you see the opportunity.

"Divock was switched on and finished it off. It probably came at him a bit fast but he is a top player.

"He scored two goals for us tonight and everyone will remember this moment."

Michael Owen labelled the corner as "opportunism" as BT presenter Gary Lineker added: "It is crazy to switch off from a set play like that."

Rio Ferdinand pointed the finger at Barca for their poor defending.

He added: "They went to sleep. That is a schoolboy error. When the ball goes out of play, you set yourself up to defend the corner.
