Jacob Ramsey believes this England Under-21 side boast a modesty that will see them improve the country's wretched record at the European Championship.
Despite regularly being labelled as favourites, five of the last six campaigns have ended in group stage exits, with a semi-final in 2017 acting as an outlier.
Aston Villa midfielder Ramsey, set for a central role in Lee Carsley's set-up, is adamant this squad can buck the trend in Georgia and Romania when they kick off against Czech Republic on Thursday.
'One thing that I will say about this group - when we've looked at previous groups before, and previous camps, there's probably a different mentality,' Ramsey said.
'In this group we've got a bit of humble side. I think everyone knows how well we can play together, and we probably are one of the favourites. But we will go into this tournament respecting every team.
'I feel like we've got the right balance and, hopefully, when we go out there we will show that.'
Ramsey – who revealed he moulds himself on a 'young Dele Alli' – enjoyed a strong season at Villa, kicking on once Unai Emery was appointed as Steven Gerrard's successor.
The 22-year-old began adding more goals with Emery, scoring four in his last 12 Premier League games and will need to take on that responsibility with England possessing just one striker in the squad.
'Emery is putting a lot of pressure on me to create chances for Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey - players like that,' Ramsey added.
'When he's come in he's put a lot of pressure on me, which is always good to have him demanding me to go and get in the box, scoring goals, get assistance and creating chances.
'If you look at the names that Lee's chosen, especially in the front areas - I there's a lot of talent.
'You can really tell that in training - the intensity, the shooting drills that we do. No one is rash, everyone has good technique, everyone's finishing them.'
