Jorge Jesus says he will explain the reasons behind Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the Portugal squad after the final match of this international break.
Ronaldo abruptly left the Portugal camp ahead of their Nations League meeting with Denmark, after widespread reports suggested tensions had been building since their previous win over Norway.
The 41-year-old was an unused substitute as Portugal ran out 2-1 winners on Sunday, with Joao Felix and Goncalo Ramos both getting on the scoresheet.
After the victory, Jesus said it was a "tactical choice" to leave Ronaldo on the bench, with Norway dominating most of the proceedings despite losing.
The Portugal captain trained away from his team-mates on Monday and Tuesday, with media reports suggesting there was a "crisis" meeting being held between Ronaldo, Jesus and Portugal Football Federation (FPF) president Pedro Proenca to clear the air.
Jesus insisted he would not "hide or run away" from the topic, but he was not willing to discuss the matter in depth ahead of Thursday's match with Denmark.
"I will explain everything after the last game," said Jesus in his pre-match interview.
"I have spent many years in football and I know that I did nothing that should have caused things to go differently.
"After the Norway game [this coming Sunday], we will talk about this subject. I will not hide or run away from it.
"Nobody can take away what Cristiano represents. He’s an icon and that’s not in question."
Portugal's final match of this international break comes at home against Norway on October 4.

this so called Ronaldo should go to hell, selfish guy....! all he wants is to reach 1000 goals, that's how it feels to be bench,,, he should be grateful that those in the pitch are scoring and helping the country to win, other players use to sit there and watch him doing nothing on the pitch,, I respect the idea that Ronaldo helped Portugal to come to a better level before but now he's unable anymore... the best thing to do is to sit on the bench, watch the young stars scoring goals that cannot score anymore, it's football and you cannot play for 90 mins from the age of 19 until the age of 41... owafingwa ano, Ronaldo okwiihole mah, naye komakule kiwi...
