Arsenal made only their second ever Champions League final on Tuesday night but John Terry felt their reaction at full-time was excessivde as he accused them of over-celebrating

John Terry has claimed that Arsenal's celebrations were "a little bit too much for me" after they lapped up making the Champions League final.

The Gunners saw off Atletico Madrid in their semi-final second-leg with Bukayo Saka's first-half strike proving decisive. The winger scored the only goal of the night, which saw the Premier League side pick up a 2-1 aggregate victory.

It keeps alive their hopes of winning the Premier League and the Champions League, but their celebrations at full-time at the Emirates have been called out. The north Londoners had only ever been to one European Cup final, that back in 2006, whilst this current crop of stars are trying to end a six-year trophy drought.

For several years Arsenal have been targeted by some former players and pundits for, what they perceive, to be over celebrating. Terry has again gone at Mikel Arteta's side.

He took to TikTok whilst watching PSG against Bayern Munich and said: "I’ve been looking forward to this game all week, especially after the poor game of football last night [between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid].

"But fair play to Arsenal on making the Champions League final. What a game, what a start to the game this was tonight. How PSG have still got 11 men on the pitch I do not know. How PSG have not given away a penalty I do not know. It stinks of Chelsea versus Barcelona 2009/10 at Stamford Bridge where we should have had four or five penalties at least, but great game of football.

"By the way, Arsenal way over-celebrated. Far too much for me. Yeah, you’re excited because you make the Champions League final, but over-celebrated a little bit too much for me."

Terry made similar comments when Arsenal beat his former side Chelsea to reach the Carabao Cup final - a match they would ultimately lose to Manchester City. The Gunners beat the Blues in both games to secure a 4-2 aggregate win, but the former defender claims they over did it with their reaction.

"I just want to talk on Arsenal’s celebrations after… let’s not forget, it’s the Carabao Cup, it’s not the Champions League final," said Terry. "They celebrated far too much for me, I think that showed the pressure that’s on them at the moment."
