John Terry is auctioning off a slew of memorabilia from his heavily decorated playing career - including the match shirt he wore when he slipped and missed his penalty kick in the 2008 Champions League final against Manchester United.
The defeat in Moscow was one of the most difficult of Terry's time on the pitch, with the Chelsea legend describing on a podcast appearance in December how he had even considered taking his own life in the aftermath of the loss.
But Terry will be parting with the shirt for a good cause, offering the item described as 'tear-stained' as part of an auction offering aimed to raise money for his John Terry Foundation. which will look to benefit two charities 'close to his heart'.
Joining the shirt, which is valued at £3,750, are other highly prized offerings including the infamous 'full kit' that Terry changed into to lift the Champions League trophy in 2012, after having been suspended for the final in Munich.
That shirt has been given a valuation of £1,875, while a miniature of the trophy he raised aloft has been valued at £3,750.
By far the most valuable item in the collection is thought to be his Premier League medal won in 2004-05, when Terry as captain ended Chelsea's 50-year top-flight trophy drought after manager Jose Mourinho's debut Premier League season.
The medal could fetch up to £75,000, while similarly big-ticket items in the auction include shirts exchanged with international stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
One of his opponents' shirts, Thierry Henry's, worn during his famous 'Invincibles' campaign at Arsenal, has been given an eye-catching valuation of £750.
Other shirts of Terry's from notable ties include his final Chelsea appearance shirt, and his final career appearance jersey from his time at Aston Villa.
There is also a nod to Terry's international career, with a red England shirt from the Three Lions' disastrous defeat to Germany at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The sale is set to take place on December 31 at online auction house Goldin, with a spokesperson noting that the collection was a testament to Terry's truly 'remarkable' career.
'When considering the greatest defenders in the history of English football, John Terry's name can often be found at the forefront of the conversation,' a statement read. 'A stalwart and imposing presence on Chelsea's vaunted back line, a position he held with the club for nearly 20 years, Terry quickly was anointed as the club's skipper under newly arrived manager Jose Mourinho, a decision that proved wise beyond measure.
'In addition to his domestic achievements, Terry established himself as an accomplished lynchpin on the backline of England's National Team, appearing in 78 international competitions while representing the Three Lions and scoring six goals total.
'Goldin is proud to present a remarkable array of memorabilia sourced directly from John Terry's personal collection, testaments to various stages of Terry's illustrious and accomplished career.'

we redlly shouldve won it in 2008 and in 2009, Terry burries that penalty 99/100 times, we were just super fuckin unlucky but we were the best team in the world for both of those years, dnd in 2009 we all know what happened agsinrt barca and how we were completely ROBBED in that game, and then they wfnt on to win it, whdn it should've been us!! realistically we should have 4 CL titles to our name, but unfortunately evenly have 2. but during those years from say 2005-2010 Chelsea was the best team in the world andvits actually crazy we didn't win it until 2012 when we had the weakest side of the abramovich era, but we still managed to pull it off in Munich, one of the best games I've ever seen, that was the last shot that Cech, Lamps, JT, Drogs, Cole had to win that trophy, we should've won it multiple times prior to that but finally that core of players won it and they deserved to win it finally after bring the bestcteam for so long and coming up just short so many times b4 that, im fo glad thst they ron it that year. but I wish we hadve won it in 2008 and in 2009, going back 2 back wouldvd been so sick, I redlly really wish we had those 2 back, cause we should have 4 xnd it kills me that we don't and that we got screwed big time for 1 of them.
no one robbed you ,the best team won bro
