Jordan Henderson is set to become the highest paid England player EVER

Jordan Henderson will become the highest ever paid English player when he finalises his high-profile move to Al-Ettifaq.

The former Liverpool captain confirmed that he is leaving Liverpool after 12 years at Anfield, and will be joining up with former captain Steven Gerrard at the Saudi Pro League outfit.

He has not officially been confirmed as an Al-Ettifaq player, but has been training with his new team-mates ahead of the move being confirmed by the Saudi outfit.

Henderson flew to Croatia to finalise the move, and is set to pen a contract earning him a mouth-watering £700,000-a-week, with Liverpool also receiving £12million as he still has two years left on his deal.

As a result, the England international is set to earn a whopping £36m-a-year and over £100m if he sees out all three years of his deal.

Unsurprisingly, Henderson has rocketed to the top of the list of England's highest-earning players.

He know tops the list by some £225,000-a-week - more than that earned by Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.

Behind Henderson comes Marcus Rashford, whose new terms at Manchester United see him rake in some £375,000-a-week at Old Trafford, just reward for a fine 2022-23 campaign that resulted in 30 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

Behind Rashford in third is his team-mate Jadon Sancho on £350,000-a-week, followed by Raheem Sterling on £325,000 and Man City star Jack Grealish, who penned terms on £300,000-a-week on his arrival at the Etihad in 2021.

Mason Mount, Declan Rice, John Stones, Reece James and Phil Foden all make £250,000-a-week and take up joint-sixth place on the list as a result.

Behind them comes Bellingham's £220,000-a-week contract at the Bernabeu, and 12th on the list is England captain Harry Kane, who takes home £200,000-a-week at Tottenham.

After Kane, north London rival is the next highest earner on £195,000-a-week at the Emirates, followed by Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire who are both on £190,000-a-week at Chelsea and Man United respectively.

Below them comes Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is on £180,000-a-week at Anfield, rounding out the top 15 earners in the England set-up.
