Against Algeria, Jordan took an early lead but conceded twice in the second half. However, they reached a historic milestone by scoring in consecutive matches.

According to Opta, Jordan are the first World Cup debutant side to score in each of their first two matches since 2006, having found the net against Austria (1-3 loss) and Algeria (1-2 loss).
