Brighton confirmed their Premier League status on Friday with a 1-0 win against second-placed Manchester United.
Pascal Gross grabbed the only goal of the game when he headed in on the 57th minute of the match, but it may have not been given without goal-line technology.
Marcus Rojo appeared to clear the ball off the line but the goal decision system showed it had just crossed the line as Brighton moved onto the all important 40 point mark.
United lose to all three newcomers
Manchester United had been beaten at Newcastle and Huddersfield in the Premier League this season – but had never lost away against three promoted sides in a single top-flight campaign.
That has now changed. Mourinho will be worried that some of his supposed superstars appeared to have their flip flops on down by the Brighton seaside. Go into the FA Cup final with this look about them and they will get turned over.
Fellaini isn't worth the money
Marouane Fellaini claimed this week that Manchester United had made a big mistake by not offering him a new contract sooner. He added they could pay a heavy price for their hesitation. Crikey. Really?
Fellaini, currently on £80,000 a week at Old Trafford, wants a two-year deal to stay beyond this summer. Judging by this, he is not worth it. He just does not have enough in his locker.
McTominay is Mourinho's man
Jose Mourinho singled out Scott McTominay at Manchester United’s end-of-season awards dinner, naming the 21-year-old as his personal player of the year.
McTominay started on the bench and watched as Paul Pogba tried to pull the strings in midfield. Pogba's passes were often misplaced and he showed his frustration at his team-mates for not making the right runs. Not his night.
Knockaert bamboozles back four
Brighton fans will not like to hear this, but Anthony Knockaert appears close to being big-six club material. He has an Eden Hazard look about him at times.
Staying in the Premier League would at least give Brighton a chance of keeping him. The 26-year-old Frenchman bamboozled United’s defenders at times here and threaded inch-perfect through-balls, particularly in the first half. A driving force on his day.
De Gea proves his worth again
Minute 20 of this match showed why David De Gea has won Manchester United Player of the Year in four of the last five seasons.
The ball sat up nicely for Brighton striker Glenn Murray, who leathered it towards goal. De Gea flung himself to the right and, with one hand, kept the score at 0-0. Best in the Premier League, but helpless for Brighton’s opener.
Rashford has lots to learn
With no Romelu Lukaku because of an ankle injury, Marcus Rashford acted as a lone striker. The young man loves to run at defenders on the break but his decision-making could improve.
Anthony Martial, starting with Rashford for only the second time in 2018, was left frustrated when the 20-year-old failed to square to him in an opportune position. He will learn.

problems??...1. nobody runs forward 2. this team hasn't played with each other once(not 1 time) 3.sanchez considers Rashford useless( i would like to see him doing this much at that age) 4.Martial doesn't have enough support 5.Only 1 defender(Matic) 6.The coach is unable to develop passing...( something that won man city the premier league👌👌) 7.Mourinho is not the best at inspiring players but mctominay seems to be doing well

I can't understand..... I'm as a Football player.... why there is so bad comments about Manchester United. Our Team confirmed in top four. The only things is we should support give a good comments. I also disappointed when we lost the game.... but think wisely.... Sometime we cannot blame the manager.... Player also not very aggressive in the pitch.... we got chance to score but we didn't use it well. example Rashford should pass the ball in the middle but he himself selfish. our keeper De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world for this generation........ My Best wishes to Jose n Manchester United team to rebuild new Team for next season to show Mr. Sir Alex Ferguson And Fans Red Devils Is Back..... I'm Proud To Be Manchester United Die Hard Fan. Thank you

Thankfully I just woke up. I lost interest in our matches the moment the noisy neighbors went 16 clear. See y'all next season and not surprised Brighton won. Not at all 😂😂

Brighton had the passion but when you lose the ball it is easy to put 11 players behind the ball and not get criticised. Martial had the chance to prove he has the ability to be a United player but he was a disaster always coming inside when the wing was available

Lads Jose just wanted Brighton to stay up that’s all. 2nd is pretty much secured, as long as we win the final and get the same amount of silverware as Wenger, we’ll be fine 😂😂

Brighton had the advantage heading in this game. It wasn't the home-field advantage, but rather this match dictated whether they would see another Premier League game in the summer or another 30 years. Mourinho has bigger fish to fry in the FA Cup Final, though a similar performance might not be enough to stop Chelsea, regardless of how poorly they've faired.
