Igor Tudor claimed his side "lacked energy" after Juventus' winning start to the season came to an end as they drew 1-1 with Hellas Verona in Serie A.
The Bianconeri took the lead in the 19th minute through Francisco Conceicao, but Verona replied just before the break as Gift Orban converted from the penalty spot after Joao Mario was adjudged to have handled the ball.
Despite dropping points on Saturday, Tudor's side remain undefeated in their last nine games in Serie A.
Juve's point nudged them ahead of Napoli in the standings, though Antonio Conte's team could move back into top spot by beating Pisa on Monday.
Drawing matches has become a recurring problem for Juve, as no team in Serie A has finished level more times on the road in 2025 — six in total, the same as Genoa and Venezia.
Tudor, though, feels that the toil of Juve's last two matches — a 4-3 victory over Inter followed by a frantic 4-4 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League — caught up with his players.
"I noticed that the team was tired. They lacked energy and weren't as fresh as they should have been, but I can't fault the lads, both those who started and those who came on as substitutes," Tudor said.
"Hellas Verona played well, prepared thoroughly during the week with this match in mind and covered ground well throughout the game.
"Now we roll up our sleeves and think about the next game against Atalanta."
Conceicao at least returned to scoring form, as the winger found the net in Serie A for the first time since February.
And though he conceded there was fatigue within the squad, Conceicao did not want to find excuses.
"We are disappointed not to have won this match. Clearly, there was a bit of general fatigue after the two very intense matches we played against Inter and Dortmund, but that must not be an excuse," Conceicao said.
"We are a great team and it is normal to play many matches during a season because we’re in many competitions."
