Juventus have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
According to Calciomercato.com, a meeting has been arranged for Wednesday in Milan, where Juve supremos Fabio Paratici and Beppe Marotta will try to thrash out a deal with their Genoa counterparts.
The website explains Rossoblu owner Enrico Preziosi will start negotiations at €20m, although that figure ‘can certainly go down, given the shot-stopper has only a year left on his contract and ‘has expressed his intention to join a top club’.
The Bianconeri, for their part, are expected to come in at closer to €10m, but CM notes they could offer players in exchange, namely fellow glovesman Emil Audero or ex-Grifone midfielder Rolando Mandragora.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old would have already given the green light to joining the Old Lady, despite the prospect of initially playing second fiddle to Wojciech Szczesny.

If I am Perin I would never go to Juve to be a bench player. He is good enough to be first keeper for good teams, Napoli and us could use him if a) they don't get Patricio/Leno b) we sell Donnarumma in the summer after all between us, him, Raiola and the fans.

I feel that this is a bit redundant given Szcesny was supposed be the number 1 after Buffon retires, and Perin is also very good. I think it's better to have a clear starting #1 though, it would help with the defense-keeper pairing and positioning. Maybe it's a trend these years to have 2 very good keepers that are almost interchangeable in lineups. I just find it weird.

I think the answer is "because it is the Juventus football club". I think one single goalkeeper is not enough if we want to be better in all the competition next year.I do agree that Woj is amazing, but having a Perin there would be for sure a giant help.

He'd be an absolute idiot if he went to Juve, getting benched for five years at his peak. There's other teams he could go to, Napoli first among them, but even staying at Genoa is better than warming Juve's bench. I'm just quite disappointed because I hoped he could be the NT starter considering Donnarumma's form.
