Juventus will be excluded from Serie A if they remain in the Super League

There are three clubs that remain committed to the Super League project: Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, and it's no coincidence they are the clubs in the deepest financial trouble, yet ahead of the end of the 2020/21 season, president of the Italian FA, Gabriele Gravina, has confirmed that the Old Lady will be excluded from Serie A if they remain tied to the Super League.

Juventus' chances of Champions League qualification received a hammer blow with a 3-0 home defeat to AC Milan on Sunday, leaving the club facing the very real possibility of not receiving the much-needed Champions League windfall.

"If at the time of signing up for the new Serie A season they haven't withdrawn from the Super League, Juventus would be excluded," Gravina explained.

"There is a very clear and precise rule and it is reflected in the statutes of the federation."

The Italian FA's regulations state that teams are not allowed to join competitions organised by associations other than FIFA and UEFA and still compete in Serie A at the same time.

Quite clearly, the Super League doesn't fall under either the umbrella of FIFA or UEFA, so technically Juventus would be denied membership of the Italian pyramid unless they leave the Super League.
